40-Hour HAZWOPER Training

40-Hour HAZWOPER Training Course

This in-depth 40-hour HAZWOPER course is required for workers involved in hazardous substance cleanup operations and emergency response activities. It meets OSHA requirements under 29 CFR 1910.120(e) and is designed to protect workers who may be exposed to hazardous substances at uncontrolled waste sites and during emergency situations.

Cleanup operations covered under this regulation include the removal, containment, incineration, neutralization, stabilization, and processing of hazardous waste. These operations are typically performed at Superfund sites, industrial locations, and anywhere hazardous waste has been released into the environment. Workers may be exposed to chemical, biological, radiological, or physical hazards during these activities.

This training also applies to workers involved in emergency response operations where hazardous substances are released, or there is the substantial threat of release. These workers may include members of industrial fire brigades, hazardous materials teams, or environmental cleanup contractors who are expected to contain or control a spill or release.
